Underground Unheard touring icons, Bobby FKN White and Quanstar will be hitting the road in March on the “Spring Up Tour” to promote the release of their new albums “Single & Wrinkles” and “Play Games” respectively. They will be accompanied by DJ’s Coach K and Whistleblower spinning the best of funk, soul, and hip hop.
Beginning in March, the tour will run through May 2016. Attached is the tour’s one sheet that contains brief bios and links on each artist, tour dates currently booked, and show options; additionally, Underground will handle flier and poster design, as well as, press releases and posting to Songkick.
Bobby FKN White [Asheville, NC]
Bobby Fuckin [FKN] White is an American rapper, DJ/turntablist, booker, promoter and illustrator. He is also the co-founder of “Underground Unheard” and the Hip Hop duo “True Believers”. Bobby has also played roles such as scout, talent buyer, and even executive producer on multiple compilations involving various artists. Aside from writing/recording raps, DJing and touring, Bobby White currently maintains a steady position as general manager for a Hip-Hop/EDM night club in downtown Asheville North Carolina.
Since he began writing and recording Hip Hop tracks in 2005, Bobby FKN White has released: two EPs, two LPs, two compilations, multiple singles and one official music video. His first music video release for the track “Money Jam”, trended and went viral racking over 100,000 views in the first two months. He has also collaborated and recorded tracks with indie heavy weights such as Akil the MC [of Jurassic 5], Vast Aire [of Cannibal OX], Blueptint [of Rhymesayers Ent.], Sleep [of Strange Famous Records] and Del tha Funkee Homsapian [of Heiroglyhics]. Currently Bobby is getting ready to release his next solo album “Singles & Wrinkles” in mid-March followed by the “Spring UP”.
Quanstar [Atlanta, GA]
Born in Compton, Ca, Quanstar attributes his earliest exposure to hip hop culture to his cousin. It was through him that Quanstar found out about artists like Run DMC, The Sugarhill Gang, The Fat Boys, and Kurtis Blow. After that Beat Street, Breakin’, and Wild Styles took over; however, the one single moment that made him a bona fide “hip hop head” was seeing LL Cool J perform “Radio” in the movie, Krush Groove. At that point he got it, and knew that’s what he wanted to be.
Since, Quanstar has released over 10 albums, starred and executive produced a documentary (Do It!: A Documentary), and toured internationally; in addition to these, he’s written a book (Water From Turnips), writes a blog on being an independent musician (Indie Hip Hop 101), does a cooking show with his 8 and 4 year old sons (Cooking With Quanstar), and develops Android Applications. Quanstar is considered one of Hip Hop’s true Renaissance Artists. The Atlanta based emcee has taken the independent hip hop world by storm using passion, innovation, and ‘plain ole’ hard work to stretch the envelope and showcase his multitude of talents and interests.
