ECO aka BIGhands was born in the early 80’s, in the suburban sector of the 'Watchingthem De-Ceive' area, formulating a solid musical foundation, while taunted by an instinctual awareness of off-beat, erratic, nontraditional rhythms.  While developing elements of production and the language of sound, prior to conceiving their importance, ECO began the transformation in the 90’s from the mental to the tangible medium, writing poetry, then lyrics.  Officially entering the realm of digital percussion and audio programming, sometime after 2000, ECO joined emcees Earthworm Jim and The Anonymous Dwella, comprising the group "Catch 22", inspired by late 90’s hip-hop, whom merged immense lyrical value with a refreshing freestyle.  After years of adjusting auditory acoustics, exploring complex cadence coordination, and developing a spiritual, organic sound, ECO began to harvest rhythms and instruments from around the globe.  Splicing a marriage of melodies, he captures various similarities bridging the illusory gap between universal aural linguistics.

As a wordsmith, ECO concentrates on wordplay, delivery, crowded syllable usage, and complex rhyme schemes. ECO attended a Recording Arts school and continued the progression in production of instrumentals and composition of lyrics reflecting the continually escalating trend of human evolution and awareness, while attempting to repel the often repetitive, counter-productive message of the mainstream.  In 2011, ECO linked up with Bobby FKN White during the 8 months broadcasting of the intellect-oriented radio show, called ‘Show Intelligence’, which, at the time, transmitted from the same, local Asheville radio station as The Underground Unheard Show once had.  ECO joined the Underground Unheard family in late 2011, precisely parallel to his spontaneous and simultaneous transition across state, returning to the Asheville area to preserve truth and reality through music.
